Monthly Transition Rate of Prime-Age U.S. Workers From Employment to Non-Employment Due to a Layoff

Ellieroth and Michaud (EM) Employment-to-Layoff Transition Rate tracks the probability at which U.S. prime-age (25-55 years) workers transition from employment to non-employment following a layoff in a given month. Expressed as the share (percentage) of all prime-age employed workers in the previous month. Non-employment includes both unemployment and not in the labor force.
